We conducted Chile’s first interdisciplinary mixed-methods study on nicotine and THC vaping. Our research characterizes user profiles, motivations, access, normalization, and regulatory gaps to generate critical evidence on this rapidly evolving phenomenon.

Emerging Products and Health Inequalities

We examine how performance-enhancing products are embedded within educational and institutional settings. From a biocultural perspective, we investigate how these practices influence stress, sleep, and nutrition, and how they contribute to the production of health inequalities across populations.

We advance intercultural and participatory research on genetics, data sovereignty, and the interpretation of scientific evidence. Through Science and Communities, we foster ethical dialogue on identity, evidence, and the political implications of genomic research.

Indigenous Futures, Solidarity, and Decolonial Bioscience

We explore Indigenous futurisms and border epistemologies to critically examine genetics and epigenetics beyond racialized frameworks. Grounded in relational heritability and narrative sovereignty, we advance a community-centered bioscience that prioritizes land, memory, and Indigenous self-determination.

We reframe race, epigenetics, and bioethics through the lens of Indigenous sovereignty, advancing participatory research, dialogue, and decolonial scientific frameworks.
